Senior Manager/Supervisor
GARRISON LEGAL SEARCH FIRM
We're Hiring: Senior Accounting & Benefits Administrator
Washington, DC  •  Remote (Hybrid)  •  Part-Time, ~30 hrs/week  •  Flexible Schedule

At Garrison Legal Search Firm, our proudest achievement isn't the 2,000+ elite attorneys we've placed over four decades — it's the culture we've built along the way. From our Washington, DC headquarters, we've earned the legal industry's trust through an approach defined by integrity, discretion, and genuine relationships: high touch, high truth, high trust. But what we're most proud of is the close-knit team behind it all — a group where everyone has a place, where we take our work seriously without ever taking ourselves too seriously, and where we invest deeply in our people.

Now, we're looking for a Senior Accounting and Benefits Administrator to serve as the financial backbone of our firm — owning our full accounting and financial management, payroll, and benefits administration while partnering directly with the firm's three owners as a trusted advisor on the numbers that drive our decisions. This is far more than a bookkeeping role. You'll be the person who "keeps the trains running," advising leadership on vendors, budgets, and financial strategy, and providing the thought leadership that helps guide our firm's continued growth and long-term sustainability.

If you're the kind of professional who thrives on autonomy, values a flexible remote schedule, and wants your work to make a direct and visible impact, you'll find a rare opportunity here: a genuine seat at the table within a warm, welcoming team that will make you feel like part of the family from day one. We invest in our people, and this is your chance to lead, be seen, and truly matter. If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
Accounting & Financial Management
▪  Own accounts receivable — generating client fee invoices and recording bank deposits
▪  Manage accounts payable — entering vendor and expense invoices and compiling supporting documentation
▪  Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts, and download monthly statements
▪  Prepare monthly Profit & Loss reports and weekly, monthly, and annual reports on fees, commissions, payroll, expenses, and placements
▪  Administer bimonthly payroll in full compliance with DMV-area tax laws
▪  Process owner (3) commissions to LLCs, maintain a QuickBooks file for each, and assist with tax preparation
▪  Prepare quarterly federal and state tax estimates for the three LLCs
▪  Generate annual W-2s for employees and 1099s as required
▪  Handle monthly DC sales tax, annual personal property and Unclaimed Property filings, US AIES Census, and bi-annual DCRA filing and business license
▪  Partner with our outside accounting firm to prepare annual corporate tax returns
▪  Support the COO in preparing for and running the Year-End Partner Meeting

Technology, AI & Adaptability
▪  Leverage technology and automation to improve efficiency, accuracy, reporting, and workflow
▪  Use AI-enabled tools for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation while exercising sound judgment
▪  Apply appropriate confidentiality, ethical standards, and human oversight with AI-assisted tools

Benefits & Human Resources
▪  Manage, evaluate, and administer company benefits, including 401(k), SmartBenefits, and Flexible Spending Accounts
▪  Maintain employee files and Paid Time Off (PTO)

What You Bring
▪  A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
▪  Strong proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word
▪  Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software), including report generation
▪  Experience entering data in CRM databases
▪  Comfort with modern accounting, HR, payroll, and productivity technologies — and the ability to learn new systems quickly
▪  Adaptability to evolving business needs, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies
▪  A proactive, phone-friendly communication style, sound judgment, and genuine care for the team's success
