POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Consultant will lead recruitment outsourcing engagements. They will work closely with client leadership to understand needs and develop and execute strategies to identify talent, utilizing successful and unique search methodologies and strategies.

The Senior Consultant works collaboratively across the organization to execute business development strategies and potential client relationships. They also represent the firm through public speaking engagements, participating in panels, and writing in their area of subject matter expertise.  The Senior Consultant also coaches and mentors more junior staff within the firm.

This individual is a key contributor and mentor, ensuring a highly responsive, high-quality, client service experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Management and Recruitment Outsourcing Engagement

  • Leads and manages high volume recruitment outsourcing engagements. Screens, interviews, and recommends placements, and achieves and maintains a pipeline of highly qualified talent for client positions.
  • Works collaboratively with the firm’s other practice areas to manage recruitment projects and cross business unit engagements.
  • Recommends recruiting methodologies tailored to each organization/client, takes accurate position notes, writes and prepares candidate profiles, related reports, and assessments for presentation to clients, and provides appropriate briefings to maintain the integrity of recruitment processes.
  • Manages and owns the interview process including de-briefing clients and candidates with relevant information and updating both parties on developments to build trusting and long-lasting relationships throughout and after a search closes.
  • Negotiates/closes offer process and effectively manages offer/acceptance/start timelines ensuring that all deliverables are managed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provides end to end recruitment services as per the contracted agreement for each client/engagement.

 

Business Development

  • Works in partnership with the Team Leader to execute business development strategies and tactics in support of the firm's recruitment outsourcing strategies.
  • Remains current with nonprofit sector news, trends, and developments to better understand clients and candidates.
  • Manages and actively generates new client business with local, regional, and national nonprofit organizations by leveraging and/or offering relevant recruitment solutions; in collaboration with the Team Leader, to develop, and respond to requests for proposals.
  • Cultivates new and maintains existing business relationships with appropriate contacts within nonprofit and mission-driven organizations with the intent of translating business relationships into profitable business opportunities.
  • Actively participates in the establishment and maintenance of partnerships with for-profit entities whose businesses complement those of the firm with the intent of translating relationships into profitable recruitment outsourcing business opportunities.

Leadership

  • Actively listens to gain understanding of clients’ changing business and operational needs in order identify opportunities to deepen the client engagement.
  • Collaborates with Client Services Managing Directors to upsell and cross-sell client service solutions to ensure achievement of existing client objectives and firm revenue goals.
  • Develops and delivers public speaking opportunities in area of subject matter expertise which aligns with Nonprofit HR’s marketing and business development strategies including client roundtables and firm-sponsored events and webinars.
  • Keeps abreast of HR best practices and trends and participates in creating collateral to share and market expertise (e.g., blogs, case studies, white papers)
  • Actively participates in hiring panels and new hire orientation programs to ensure incoming talent aligns with Nonprofit HR’s culture, values and expectations.
  • Provides frequent, ongoing feedback to Team Leaders for Consultants and Associate Consultants assigned to project teams.
  • Coaches and mentors to help grow consulting practice capabilities and effectiveness to achieve challenging firm and client goals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIRED

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years as a recruitment professional, that includes talent acquisition and search strategies, candidate and client management experience or volume recruiting expertise working with other search firms with a nonprofit practice or focus and proven connections within major subsectors of the social impact community including arts and culture, associations, education, health, and human services, environment and faith-based organizations.
  • Experience recruiting top talent within the nonprofit sector for a wide range of verticals or general staffing industry experience and knowledge about recruiting for small to large organizations.
  • Proven experience managing multiple, high-volume recruitment engagements and execution using selection methodology.
  • Attainment of one or more certifications CSP/CSC/PHR/SPHR is highly preferred.
  • Proven expertise partnering with executive leaders on recruitment strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, sustaining and leading business relationships with potential customers is critical.
  • Demonstrated innovation and ability to think strategically and creatively to solve problems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Adept at collaborating with and leading diverse internal teams and client engagements.
  • Outstanding client service orientation to include a demonstrated understanding of the social impact sector.
  • Refined project management skills; ability to effectively manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring other staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all MS Office applications and experience with CRM software and/or applicant tracking systems. Experience working with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Ability to represent the firm with credibility in front of clients.
  • Outstanding follow-up, project management, and organizational skills required.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate orally, write and present effectively and concisely to a wide variety of audiences including management, staff, and Boards of Directors.
  • Proven experience with public speaking, serving on panels, and writing or contributing to articles and papers in area of subject matter expertise.
  • Passion, intelligence, the ability to influence, convince and persuade effectively
  • A high level of self-motivation
  • Proven ability to identify and secure new business opportunities with the goal of increasing revenues.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive and proven ability to be self-motivated to learn, grow, and succeed as well as the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures and a competitive spirit to outperform other search firm competitors.
  • Desire to actively contribute to the firm’s growth and its Recruitment Outsourcing Practice.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

This position is largely sedentary in nature however one must possess the ability to speak, hear, see and write as well as the ability to use a computer and related software programs, and lift up to 25 lbs. Local and/or national travel periodically required and may require some longer weekday/weekend commitments to accomplish related business projects or meet deliverables.
