Health Equity Works (HEW) is a new communications campaign initiative created to elevate the work of nonprofits and advocacy organizations to advance a positive national narrative around health equity. TOA is hosting the initiative in collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Position Summary:
The Digital Strategy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive digital communications strategy to reach key audiences across multiple platforms including, but not limited to, social media, websites, and paid advertising through audience targeting and digital engagement. This role focuses on identifying where the key audiences spend time online and developing targeted strategies to reach them effectively.
The Digital Strategy Manager will use audience intelligence and digital behavior analysis to ensure messaging reaches the right people through the right channels with compelling content. A key focus of this position will be on rapid response and crisis communications, ensuring the initiative and it’s partners are prepared to address emerging issues swiftly and effectively.

This position will also be responsible for all digital projects, including content and editorial calendars, digital partnerships, influencer programs, and multimedia projects, and liaise with external vendors.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive research to understand where target audiences consume information online.
  • Map digital behaviors and content preferences across target audience segments.
  • Identify and monitor key online communities, forums, and digital spaces where conversations related to health equity happen.
  • Track emerging platforms and digital channels where key audiences gather.
  • Develop platform-specific content approaches that align with audience preferences.
  • Deploy highly targeted paid media campaigns across programmatic, social, and search platforms.
  • Coordinate influencer partnerships focused on reaching specific community segments.
  • Manage real-time campaign adjustments based on performance analytics.

Desired Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Marketing, Analytics, Communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in digital audience strategy and targeting.
  • Proven expertise in digital behavior analysis and audience mapping.
  • Strong background in multi-channel campaign optimization.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital analytics and audience intelligence tools.
  • Demonstrated success in reaching diverse audience segments online.
  • Proficiency in audience intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with social listening tools.
  • Knowledge of programmatic advertising platforms and targeting capabilities.
  • Strategic thinking in audience targeting and segmentation.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation abilities.
  • Ability to translate audience insights into actionable strategies.
